A native of Charleston, Janice Jones became a family photographer to help preserve images of families that tell a story.

There is a value in studying the beautiful, old black-and-white photographs of family that have come before us. These pictures hold a story. We try to imagine the relationship between the members stiffly posed together, but Janice wants to create something more. 

A warm person with a love for people, her passion is capturing photos that are more than ornaments and material for social media. She wants the photographs she takes to become keepsakes and family heirlooms.

Those that look back on these pictures holding multiple generations of the same family may notice a similar facial structure here or a recurring personality trait there.

She believes in creating fun, real images for the family that is yet to come.

For far too long, moms have faded away or become absent entirely in family photo albums. Janice wants to capture those images that mom can never get: her children laughing with her and tangling their tiny fingers in her hair.
